You are a V.I.P. in the Kingdom!
This month, we start a new sermon series called V.I.P. We all know what that stands for, right? It stands for Very Important Person.
I have good news for you. In the eyes of God, we are ALL very important people. We are so important to Him that He has chosen us and made us His very own!
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You ae royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.” – 1 PETER 2:9 (NLT)
Why would God choose us when we feel so “un-closable”? We don’t see value in ourselves and feel unworthy of His love. We don’t see ourselves as V.I.P.s.
This is where it gets nearly too good to be true, but is true! The part we must understand is that God has never seen us any other way. His love for us has never changed. The value He sees in us has never changed.
Our value, in the eyes of God, has never diminished.
In this chapter of Luke, Jesus tells three parables. All of them are about something lost and then found again. Notice that the value of each item – sheep, coin, and son – never decreased even though it was lost.
We are chosen and sought after by God! He loves us and has placed all that He has inside us to empower us to live victorious lives!
God knows what He has placed in us. He created us in His image and likeness! The lost coin never lost value even though it was lost. However, it had to be redeemed to have the value realized!
This is precisely what God did. When Adam sinned, humanity lost its sense of worth or value (V.I.P. Status). God never did. He still saw the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. He saw a treasure hidden in us that we couldn’t see ourselves. He saw V.I.P.s.
God redeemed our value so we could see it as well!
During this series, I desire you to have a greater understanding of the price paid for your redemption and realize how valuable you are in God’s eyes.
You are genuinely a V.I.P. in the Kingdom!
