Healing is Here! How Do I Know?

Healing is here! How do I know this? Because I know it’s God’s will for you and me to be healed! Let me show you from God’s Word.

19 “Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!” – PSALMS 107:19-21 (NKJV)

In verse 19, we see the people “cried out”. When did they do this? It was “IN their troubles.” Notice the people didn’t have to get out of their troubles before God heard them; they didn’t have to fix themselves before God would answer them.

Not only did God hear them, but the verse points out that “He saved them” out of their distresses! The word “save” there literally means, “avenging, defend, deliver(-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save(-ior), get victory. Knowing this, you could read verse 19 like this:

“Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved (avenged, defended, delivered, helped, preserved, rescued, made them safe, brought salvation, sent their savior, and made them victorious) them out of their distresses.”

God did all of this for them (and us!) because He loves us, not because we are lovely!

Looking at verse 20, where it says God “sent His Word”, the word “sent” is translated “set free” or “loosed”. If you think about it, we can say that the reason the Son of God was revealed (set free or loosed) was to undo and destroy the works of the devil! This is such excellent news! Jesus, Who is the Word, was set free to destroy the works of the devil!

Sickness and disease are works of the devil! Poverty or lack are works of the devil! Anxiety and depression are works of the devil! Remember: if it isn’t good, it isn’t from God. Also remember that – thanks to what Jesus did for us on the Cross – we have authority over the devil. THEREFORE:

We have been given authority over sickness and disease!

“15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” – MARK 16:15-18 (NKJV)

If Jesus has told us to “Go,” then He has empowered us to fulfill His command! When we use that authority over sickness and disease, we are simply obeying Him!

It’s not up to us to heal; it’s up to us to command the healing to come! You could say we are the wire and Jesus is the electricity!

Our focus this month is about healing and that God desires you to be healed and healthy all the time! I encourage you to join us in person or online and listen to the Word of God concerning healing! Being sick is not what God wants for you! He wants you healed! I believe it and I pray you do as well.
