Faith Ignites Grace

As we continue our Relentless Grace series, I hope you are getting a better understanding of what God has already done for you!  God was prepared and is prepared to handle anything you throw at Him.

Our sins or our mistakes don’t interfere with our right-standing with God!  God has made us righteous because of what Jesus did, not what we do.

God never changes His mind.  Once He promises something, He doesn’t take it back!  Once He forgives you, He never changes His mind on that either!  God forgives by Grace!

Let’s look at a promise made to the Old Testament’s Abraham…a promise that took over 400 years to come to pass.

“And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.  Then He said to him, ‘I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give (or grace you with) you this land to inherit it.’” – GENESIS 15:6-7 (NKJV)

God GAVE him the land to inherit.  I don’t find anywhere in scripture where it says Abraham did something to make God give him the land.  He didn’t tithe or give to get God to bless him.  He didn’t sacrifice or do a bunch of good works so that God, out of obligation, would give him the land.

Abraham wasn’t a perfect person!  He had flaws as we all do; but, he used his faith in what God said to ignite the grace that God gave him!

God has been and always will be in the Grace business!

God graced the land to Abraham and his descendants.  It wasn’t because Abraham or his descendants deserved it; God graced it on them!

Abraham is the father of faith.  He used faith to Ignite the grace on his life.  This is how we do it as well!

Read the Bible and see what God has graced you with, then use your faith to ignite it in your life!
